Coronavirus update in Bangladesh: 309 new Covid-19 patients identified in Bangladesh, 9 died


Coronavirus has been newly identified in 309 people in Bangladesh. The total number of Kovid-19 patients identified in Bangladesh is 4,998. However, during a daily news briefing, Additional Director General of the Health Department Nasima Sultana said that some private PCR laboratories were closed on Friday (April 24) and samples were not tested in those institutions and IEDCR did not receive any test reports.



9 people have died in the last 24 hours. The total death toll is 140. Among the dead were 5 women and 4 men. The 9 new victims are over 50 years old. Three of the new victims are residents of Dhaka. In the last 24 hours, 3,338 samples have been tested, said the Additional Director General of IEDCR. A total of 43,113 samples have been tested in Bangladesh.

Nasima Sultana said samples of coronavirus were being
tested at 21 institutions in Bangladesh till yesterday.
Sample testing will start from today (April 25) at two more institutions. He hoped that the samples would be tested in 26 laboratories across the country this week. He advised to keep an eye on mental health during the lockdown as well as follow the rules of health during the month of Ramadanand eat foods rich in vitamin C and zinc.In the last 24 hours, new cases of coronavirus have been identified in Bhola and Natore districts, said Nasima Sultana.He said so far no coronavirus infected person has been identified in four districts of Bangladesh. They are Khagrachhari,Rangamati, Jhenaidah and Satkhira.On Friday (April 24), for the first time in Bangladesh, more than 500 people were diagnosed with coronavirus in a single day.
